Celtics Stuff Live's Justin Poulin and Jon Duke avoided the pleasantries and jumped head first into the first 2020 Celtics season preview of the podcast world. Jon and Justin gave their best guesses as to the team's starting lineup, closing lineup, and win total; before moving on to a player by player breakdown. It's fast moving, but a very comprehensive look on the Celtics in the fascinating season to come.
Celtics Stuff Live's Justin Poulin and Jon Duke caught up with the FIBA disappointment and how the Celtics on Team USA showed tremendous growth.
In the second half of show, the CSL boys talked about Brad Stevens' interview on CLNS's Good N Plenty podcast with Jeff Goodman. Brad had some interesting comments on what needs to be the focus for the Celtics in 2020 and beyond.
Finally, in the outtakes, it was all sushi all the time. And Jon remains a wimp for not being willing to give raw seafood a shot.
Celtics Stuff Live's Justin Poulin and Jon Duke didn't have a whole lot of Celtics news to pour over this week, but Team USA is filing the void quite nicely. A pair of wins against Japan and Greece put the Team USA into the World Cup quarterfinals, but it was the work of Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart that drew the CSL guys' interest. If Smart can defend players like Giannis from time to time as he did against Greece on Saturday and Brown can rebound a bit, then the Death Squad lineup of Kemba, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, and Smart just might work.
Before wrapping an abbreviated show to watch the Patriots opener, Justin wondered whether players forcing their way out, as Antonio Brown did this week, will become even more commonplace.
Celtics Stuff Live's Justin Poulin and Jon Duke put down their rosary beads praying for Jayson Tatum's injured ankle for a brief moment to podcast. Tatum's injury was front and center for this episode, and his continuingly growing role.
In the show's second half, the CSL guys looked further into the Tatum/Brown/Kemba/Smart/Gordon lineup they talked about last week and the needed defensive intensity from that unit to compete in 2020.
Last up... in the outtakes... Justin schooled Jon on the value of sushi and what a "Philly Roll" really is. Dig in.
